CONTRa is an interactive online art exhibition about opposition, proximity and the architecture of polarization.

The title was drawn from the Portuguese “contra”, meaning against, which evokes both resistance and relation.

Six interactive artworks that explore how digital systems encode conflict.

Through these artworks – CONTR{ast}, CONTR{act}, CONTR{ite}, CONTR{ary}, CONTR{oversy} and CONTR{ibute} – neighbors become enemies, distance becomes intimacy, observation becomes interaction and contradiction becomes design.

Each interactive piece responds through image, animation and sound, to the visitor’s gestures, turning clicks, rotations, zooms and uploads into acts of composition. In a digital era shaped by algorithms that amplify contrast and feed outrage, CONTR{a} proposes contradiction not as a failure of connection, but as its starting point. An anti-manifesto built from brackets, where being against is the only way to connect.
